Betting the Farm is a verité documentary that follows three farmers—Aaron Bell, Vaughn Chase, and Richard Lary—and their families through the tumultuous first two years of launching Maine’s Own Organic (MOO) Milk. With intimate access to their triumphs and disappointments, the film gives audiences a rare glimpse at the real lives of American farmers at a crossroads.

After premiering at Silverdocs, one of the country’s premier documentary festivals, in 2012, and touring and up and down the state of Maine, we are thrilled to present the West Coast premier of Betting the Farm.

Join us afterwards for a discussion of the threats and opportunities faced by California’s dairy farmers, led by Jeff Stump, Easement Program Director of the Marin Agricultural Land Trust.

Shown with:
Feta Making at the Adamah Dairy, Margot Seigle, 2012 (2:00)
Farms, Lies & Videotape, Vanessa Carr and Carl Nasman, 2011 (8:17)

Served with:
Maine Maple Ice Cream by Bi-Rite Creamery (with maple syrup from Hilltop Boilers!)
