SF Indiefest: The Divine Toad & Second Person & A Dozen Loops

The Divine Toad
Gordo is on the verge of closing the deal of a lifetime, when he finds out that he has stage 4 terminal brain cancer. As Gordo tries to stave off death, his life spins out of control. By turns terrifying and hilarious, the biting satire takes viewers on a hallucinogenic journey into the inner workings of Silicon Valley — in all its glory and delusions of grandeur. Follow the journey of one man facing imminent death who confronts a great white whale, a DMT toad shaman, and the nine circles of hell. Will he escape death’s grip and close the biggest deal of his life or will his life take an altogether different direction? Directed by Adam Zbar, Tyler MacNiven, 55 minutes.

Second Person
Lola returns after a two year unexplained disappearance. When she arrives on Nicolas’ doorstep he lets her in, although he’s not sure why. And so their low romance resumes just where it ended. The apartment is exactly the same as when she left – same pictures, same furniture, Nicolas is wearing the same T-shirt. Time has stood still, or at least it seems to in Nicolas’ “small world”. Directed by Steven Emerson, 29 minutes.

A Dozen Loops
Internal and external distractions slowly build and threaten to derail several morning runs through the suburbs, the town and the surrounding hills. Directed by Paul Donatelli, 7 minutes.
