DocFest: We R Here & Beyond I Wanna Go

In “We R Here”*, homeless individuals in Oakland, CA, tell their struggles, experiences and hopes – in their own words – through cell phone footage. The film follows three individuals as they move from one site to the next, all while chasing the elusive miracle that will deliver them out of their current situation.

*Followed by “Beyond I Wanna Go”, a documentary short commemorating 10 years of Creative Growth’s annual Beyond Trend runway show and fundraiser. The film features historic footage of Creative Growth artists on the runway. Backstage footage over the past decade captures the dynamic growth of the event and takes a compelling look at the importance of Beyond Trend to the lives and identities of the artists (dir. by Cheryl Dunn).
