CiNEOLA Shorts: Every Possible Frame / Cada Cuadro Posible

CiNEOLA returns to the Roxie Theater with an inaugural short film program, Every Possible Frame/ Cada Cuadro Posible, surveying space, familial memories and self-identity within Latinoamérica. Highlighting personal narratives in a variety of diary or collage-like experimental styles, filmmakers reconstruct familial puzzles, linger the camera on themselves or position emotions out in their surroundings where land and ocean meet. Featuring six shorts, from Mexico to Ecuador and Colombia, Every Possible Frame/ Cada Cuadro Posible proves the daring, personal storytelling of Latinoamérica film. Co-Presented by RoxCine.

Monte Tláloc (Mariana Dianela Torres, 2 min, México, 2023)

I was looking for a stone on Monte Tláloc, then a strange sound hypnotized my camera. Starting with the expression of the landscape, I guide sound and visual stimuli with nature as the center, in the same place where a monolith now in the National Museum of Anthropology once was.

Buscaba una piedra en Monte Tláloc, luego un extraño sonido hipnotizó mi cámara. A partir del registro expresivo del paisaje, se pretende guiar estímulos sonoros y visuales con la naturaleza como centro, en el mismo lugar donde estaba el monolito que ahora se encuentra en el Museo Nacional de Antropología.
