The Straight Story (35mm)
Selected by Kota Ezawa
Upon receiving news that his estranged brother has suffered a stroke, Alvin Straight, a stubborn 73-year-old man living in rural Iowa, commits to amending their fractured relationship before it is too late. With poor eyesight and failing health disqualifying him from obtaining a driver’s license, Alvin hitches a makeshift trailer to his 1966 John Deere lawn mower and set out on a 260-mile trek to Mount Zion, Wisconsin at a max speed of 5 miles per hour.
