Discordia Cine presents Jean-Pierre Bekolo – Aristotle’s Plot & The Bloodettes

Earlier this year, the Cameroonian filmmaker Jean-Pierre Bekolo toured the U.S. with new restorations of films spanning his thirty year career. Discordia is proud to bring two of these restorations to San Francisco: the satire Aristotle’s Plot (1996) and the Afro-futurist horror film The Bloodettes (2005). Stylistically distinct, these two films show a filmmaker deeply concerned with the state of cinema in his country and its role in political discourse.

Mr. Bekolo will be present to introduce both screenings and for a Q&A following Aristotle’s Plot, led by Osarugue Otebele.
