A los 5 años me diagnosticaron asma, cuando llovía mi papá me envolvía en una bufanda y
no me dejaba salir, me decía que el olor de la tierra mojada me hacía daño. La imagen de mi padre vuelve a mí en sueños, su voz me visita en el olor de la lluvia y su
abrazo yace en una casa vieja del campo donde pasábamos nuestras vacaciones.
En petricor reconstruyo pensamientos y conversaciones que nunca tuve con mi padre,
sobre nuestra relación y mi identidad de género..

When I was 5 years old, I was diagnosed with asthma. Whenever it rained, my father
wrapped me in a scarf and wouldn’t let me go out. He told me that the smell of petrichor
would hurt me. My father’s image comes back to me in dreams, his voice whispers in the smell of rain and his embrace lies in an old house in the country where we spent our vacations.
In this short film I reconstruct thoughts and conversations that I never had with my father,
about our relationship and my gender identity.

La gente se pregunta dónde van a morir los pájaros. El pueblo de mi abuela tenía un faro entre las montañas, un bosque lleno de criaturas y un eco que sonaba en las noches como el viento cálido. Allí iban los pájaros a morir. LA NOCHE DEL MINOTAURO es un cuento fantástico, que parte de material de archivo para construir la historia de Luz Emilia García, la precursora del cine porno en Colombia.

People wonder where the birds go to die. My grandmother’s village had a lighthouse among the mountains, a forest full of creatures and an echo that sounded at night like the warm wind. That’s where the birds went to die. THE NIGHT OF THE MINOTAUR is a fantastic tale that uses archival material to construct the story of Luz Emilia García, the precursor of porn cinema in Colombia.
