Rent New People Cinema
NEW PEOPLE Cinema is located in the basement level of NEW PEOPLE in San Francisco, produced and managed by NEW PEOPLE, Inc. in partnership with the Roxie Theater. We are currently accepting rental applications for October through mid-December 2026.
- The theater features 139 fixed seats plus 4 wheelchair-accessible spaces. The auditorium is equipped with state-of-the-art DCP and HD digital projection, as well as a THX®-certified sound system.
- The cinema lobby in the basement is included at no additional charge with auditorium rentals and can accommodate up to 60 guests standing at a time. The lobby provides access to ADA-accessible men’s and women’s restrooms.
- We offer discounted rates for nonprofit organizations, emerging filmmakers, and individual presenters. The standard rental period is a minimum of 4 hours including load-in/load-out.

Rental Guidelines
Please note that the New People Cinema is available for events that are considered, based on the sole judgment of management, to be consistent with our mission and image. The space is not available for ceremonial events such as weddings, funerals, wakes, graduations, or religious services. Additionally, events that include a live band are discouraged, although acoustic musicians may be permissible provided that they play at a volume that doesn’t interrupt the other business tenants operating in the building. Please notify us during your initial inquiry if your event will require a performance.
