Johnny Mnemonic: In Black and White
Robert Longo’s JOHNNY MNEMONIC: IN BLACK & WHITE strips the cyberpunk thriller down to its starkest elements, turning its corporate dystopia, overloaded data networks, and street-level futurism into something even more graphic and uncanny. Keanu Reeves stars as a data courier carrying information directly in his brain, racing to deliver a dangerous payload before it kills him. Syd Mead contributed concept designs to the film, bringing his industrial, lived-in vision of the future to a world of megacorporations, obsolete technology, and information overload.
Part of The Future According to Syd Mead, presented in conjunction with Syd Mead: Future Pastime, on view October 8 through December 17, 2026 at San Francisco’s Transamerica Pyramid Annex Gallery.
