Outerlands

We invite San Francisco Bay Area audiences to join us for a very special theatrical screening to celebrate our 2026 Independent Spirit Award nomination in the Best First Screenplay category.

Post-screening Q&A with members of film team after 1/31 screening!

Cass juggles jobs as a nanny, restaurant server, and party drug dealer to make ends meet and pay for their tiny San Francisco apartment. After a one night stand with Kalli, a co-worker they have a crush on, Cass agrees to watch her 11-year-old daughter, Ari, while she goes out of town. But as days pass without word from Kalli, Cass and Ari form a bond that spirals Cass back to their own difficult childhood and the pain they’ve been running from.

“A film of great cinematic sleight of hand.” Variety

“Elena Oxman’s deeply affecting new movie, “Outerlands,” arrives at just the right moment, when conventional multiplex fare doesn’t seem to capture the way we are feeling in our complex world.”The San Francisco Examiner

“Outerlands is a quiet storm of a story—centered on queer identity but not defined by it.” 48 Hills
