CAAM Fest: Unseen

Join us for a post-screening Q&A

Pedro, an aspiring social worker, dreams of a better future. But as a blind, undocumented immigrant, Pedro faces political restrictions while striving to obtain his college degree, secure a job in his field, and support his family. As he finally graduates, uncertainty looms. What starts as a journey to provide mental health care for his community ultimately transforms into Pedro’s path towards his own healing. Through experimental cinematography and sound, Unseen reimagines this accessibility of cinema, while exploring the intersections of immigration, disability, and mental health. Such stories build our collective vulnerability and empathy quotient, producing knowledge of the world we tend to overlook.

**Please note that this film will have open captions that appear throughout the entire film onscreen. There will also be ASL interpreters present for Q&A post-screening. The Roxie also has ADA accommodations. Please reach out to our festival team if you have any accessibility questions.
