On The Edge Again
“An angry, original, unpredictable movie. And it’s not about winning. It’s about the reasons that athletes carry in their hearts… Bruce Dern, in one of his best performances.” — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
“Includes all the sweat that was edited out of ‘Chariots of Fire.’… For serious
runners.” — Don Carter, Seattle Post-Intelligencer
A running story built around the fictional Cielo-Sea race, based on the historical Dipsea Race run since 1905 from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach. But in 2025 director Rob Nilsson decided he had made a mistake back in 1986. Maybe he had been following the money rather than his instincts. The result is ON THE EDGE AGAIN, a redo of his running movie ON THE EDGE which was highly touted by the American press including the New York Times, the Chicago Sun Times and the Hollywood Reporter. The dynamic Frank Capra-esque running story remains the same but the love affair between Wes Holman (Bruce Dern) and Cora (Pam Grier), essential to the home video version, is now reinstated in this innovative new cut.
