This curated program of short films made from San Francisco-centric footage focuses on Chinatown, one of our city’s most beloved and documented neighborhoods. Program includes famous neon-lit scenes from feature films, home movie clips, and archival footage of the glowing neon nightscape of the mid-century nightlife. A featured presentation will be the backstory of the restoration of the Golden Star Radio neon sign and broadcast pioneers May Chin and Tommy Tong. An official event of the Neon Speaks Festival, produced and hosted by Al Barna and Randall Ann Homan of SFNeon.org.
